Which YouTube channels did my Grandma like the best?

There is plenty to be grateful for in my family, there are many different people that bring something different to the table. My family is tightly knit and before Covid, we would usually all meet at my Grandma's house. Due to the pandemic, many of us had to visit my grandma in a scattered pattern instead of together like we used to. One good memory for me, and hopefully for her, was during one of our visits with me and my parents. She enjoys watching television and BBC One shows usually. However, years ago she Grandma got a newer modern TV with the ability to use apps like Youtube and Netflix. I took the opportunity to show my Grandma some videos on YouTube for the first time formally. Before she would enjoy a few family YouTube clips but this was my time to shine and show her the wide catalogue of videos you can find on YouTube. I am from a different generation to her so I have a much bigger appreciation for YouTube content rather than watching TV shows.

Youtube has a wide variety of videos and millions of videos to watch at the click of a button. Having said this, I still felt the pressure of trying to entertain her and find something that we all enjoyed together. Here is a list of Youtube channels that 'hit the mark' with her.

1) Village Cooking YouTube Channel

This channel has many are talented cooks. They cook big quantities of food, with fresh ingredients that are uniquely found in South Asia. They cook their food under firewood and use huge pots and utensils. They are cooking outdoors in what looks like the jungle or sea-side coast. This is why they are probably called the "Village cooking channel". The kind of food they cook would be perceived as 'weird and wonderful to most westerners. They make a wide range of dishes including seafood, mutton, and vegetarian meals. The great thing about this channel is that they feed elderly people with the food they make at the end of each video. I think watching these videos reminds her of cooking in Sri Lanka when she was younger and her using traditional tools to prepare the fresh spices as they do. The background in the video is like the cooks are in India or Sri Lanka with palm trees and green grasses around them while they are cooking. She enjoyed the videos and we have watched several videos after first showing her.

2) Mark Rober YouTube Channel

I showed her this YouTube video from Mark Rober. the video was about him planning and making a squirrel obstacle course in his garden while he was in lockdown. He noticed that the regular squirrels he would see in his garden would steal his bird food from the bird feeders he had. After buying different bird feeder designers that were supposed to be "squirrel-proof" he found that they would still find a way into the most expensive bird feeder designs. This is the premise of the YouTube video. The video was well planned and entertaining. I think my Grandma enjoyed this video but I think one video was enough. I think American people sometimes speak really fast, too fast for her.

These small family moments are precious and should be cherished I feel.
